Cocotte en Paille

 

In celebration of the 200th birthday of Monsieur Louis Vuitton, the LV200 project invited 200 global visionaries to reimagine Louis’s ingenious and iconic trunk. A&A's response, Cocotte en Paille or Chatterbox in Straw, is inspired by the innovative spirit of the man and his legacy. In keeping with the chatterbox game, this vertical trunk turns inside out to reveal secret drawers that can be reconfigured in an array of patterns. A digital presentation of Cocette en Paille featured in Louis Vuitton store windows around the globe in 2021. The physical trunk appears in the collective homage, 200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries Exhibition, a global exhibition originating in Louis’s home in Asnières, west of Paris in December 2021, then travelling to New York, Tokyo and London before ending its journey at auction at Sotheby’s in December 2022. All proceeds fund a scholarship program to bridge inequality gaps in access to artistic studies.
